Tips on How to Get Noticed on Scholarship Applications:

1. Keep yourself organized- gather the necessary documents to submit with your application.
2. Pay attention to details and requirements-examples include your essay format, rules, or specific topics to follow and most importantly submit your entry by the deadline.
3. Don’t copy and paste past essays- judges can detect if you didn’t write something fresh for them.
4. Emphasize what makes you unique – keep it personable and passionate, and do not focus on the negatives. Instead, focus on how your hardships have shaped you into the person you are today.
5. Present yourself professionally-you should write as though you are speaking in a formal setting. Avoid using sarcasm, emojis, text abbreviations like LOL, or slang.
6. Do not forget to proofread/review before submitting.
7. If you are submitting a video entry- be sure to keep it interesting, use good lighting, if can use the help of a friend or family to do the camera work.
