Welcome to the FBA Student Career Center

Students across Florida Barber Academy are encouraged to work with our Student Services staff as early as their first week. The experienced staff is committed to student learning and development, and offers a variety of opportunities for current students and graduates alike.

The services provided at FBA's Student Services department are free of charge, and are available to students during their time at Florida Barber Academy, and long after they have graduated. Students, alumni, employers, and faculty members are encouraged to meet the staff and learn more about the many opportunities, resources, and services available through the department.

  • What is our purpose?

The purpose of the Florida Barber Academy's Student Services Department is to help our students achieve their goals and to help their success in their career choice.  We provide the proper tools, literature, and resources needed to be successful; not only for placement, but for their future.  We want our student to feel the passion we have in seeing them succeed. We aim to guide them towards success and achieve their dreams & goals.

  • What results can you expect?

Participation and involvement from both student & staff is a result you can expect from our Student Services Department.  We work to equip our students for every possible scenario in the work-field.  All these will result in our students being placed in the industry of their choice.

  • How do we serve our students?

We will effectively serve our students by providing workshops throughout the year in order to prepare them with the proper skills and education needed to be successful. Examples include: writing professional resumes, building their portfolio, searching for jobs, utilizing social media in a professional manner, as well one-on-one mock interviews.  We will have shop/salon owners come in and speak with students, as well.  Career days will also be held throughout the year, giving students the opportunity to network with shop/salon owners and have on-site interviews.

  • How will we measure your goals?

Goals are measured by utilizing an "Exit Graduate Survey", in which we will turn data gathered from our staff and hold annual meetings about feedback given from students.  This allows FBA to review action that were effective and which were not meeting the student's expectations.  With the help of the student "Exit Graduate Survey", FBA can implement updated plan of actions.

  • How do we help our student after graduation?

Even after graduation, our wish is that our students are feel part of the FBA Family. This is the impact we want to impress upon them. We are always in communication with local shops and salons, creating a network and building relationships.  With our community outreach, we are to provide clothing, hair products, and beauty equipment  at a discounted rate for students and alumni at FBA. With our community involvement, we help assure the brightest future for our graduates.
